CD Projekt RED and Good Old Games are in the midst of holding a joint press conference and the developer is wasting no time bringing good news. The Polish studio has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will arrive on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on February 24, 2015.

CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski says The Witcher 3 might have a slightly higher resolution on PlayStation 4, but that the difference is negligible for gamers and really only matters to Sony PR and console fans.

If you've yet to experience CD Projekt RED's RPG series, you'll be able to jump in for free this weekend on Steam. Both The Witcher Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be free to play until Sunday, 1PM PT.

The Witcher is becoming a game! A board game, more specifically.

Without explicitly announcing a comic book adaptation of The Witcher series, CDPR has announced a collaboration with Dark Horse Comics meant for "fans of the fantasy genre."

Cinematic trailers rarely have much to do with the game they advertise because, well, story rarely has much to do with games. A new cinematic trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, however, seems a fair representation of the moral dilemmas and mass murders we expect from CD Projekt RED's RPG, just prettier and slicker than the game will be.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is releasing on next-gen consoles, and CD Projekt Red is going to attempt to release free small DLC on consoles. Larger expansion packs would, obviously, cost money.

Is no surprise that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to Xbox One too, given that developer CD Projekt RED was vague about platforms when announcing for PlayStation 4. What was both surprising and delightful, however, was that the confirmation during Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference also brought the open-world RPG's first gameplay trailer.

"There will be 36 different endings," Adam Badowski, managing director of CD Projekt RED, said about the upcoming Witcher 3.
