Team 17 has announced Worms: Clan Wars, heading to PCs later this year. Beta sign-ups are now open.

In its never-ending mission to exhume former glories and make them dance like puppets strung up with wire, Worms and Alien Breed creator Team17 today announced that it's remaking its 1993 platformer Superfrog for PlayStation 3 and Vita. Superfrog HD will leap onto PlayStation Network later this year.

Alien Breed is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Vita in early February, according to Team 17.

Team17 did say it was shaking things up in Worms Revolution, having made largely the same game for 17 years, and it seems that may be the case. Worms Rev will introduce four worm classes with different abilties to the turn-based strategy series.

After 17 years and over 20 games, the Worms series is getting a little long in the tooth. As developer Team17 works to get out of that rut with the newly-announced Worms Revolution, series creator Andy Davidson has rejoined the English indie to help out.

It's been 17 years since the very first Worms game was released, but developer Team17 Software's still mining it for all its worth. 20-odd installments later, the English indie has today announced a new entry in the TBS series, Worms Revolution.

Veteran English indie Team17 Software has latched onto Good Old Games, infesting the digital distributor with its Worms United and Alien Breed--the first spawn of a relationship that'll see Superfrog, World Rally Fever and more come to GOG.

The wacky golfing take on Worms will wriggle onto PC (through Steam) and iThings on October 19, with the PSN edition to follow on October 25. Plus, come watch some pirate fun.

The PC edition of Worms Ultimate Mayhem, which combines Worms 3D and Worms 4 with new content and improvements, has been delayed by a week, until September 28.
