The 2012 shooter was delisted from Steam and the game's creative director has no idea why.
"We wanted to see if we could make a game where the moment-to-moment violence was meaningful," Williams said of Spec Ops: The Line. "If violence was going to be meaningful, we needed to plant a seed of doubt."
Spec Ops: The Line is getting a free co-op update today, offering four objective-based scenarios for two players.
While Yager's decision to take 2K's Spec Ops series into psychological territory was commendable, there's one feature that irked many gamers the wrong way: achievements.
Sure, Spec Ops: The Line may look like your ordinary third-person cover-based shooter. But 2K Games wants you to think it's more than that. In fact, the latest trailer claims that the sand-based gameplay offered in The Line is a "gamechanger."
I was ready to write off Spec Ops: The Line. But after two hours of hands-on time, I walked away impressed, eager to play more.
