PlanetSide 2's Amerish update has gone live, a few days later than originally estimated. It feature repositioned outposts, optimized performance, and some new base layouts.

PlanetSide 2 has some major content updates planned for the next two weeks, including the upcoming Amerish update and the updated mission system. Creative director Matt Higby shared some details on what to expect in a phone call with Shacknews.

PlanetSide 2 is poised to have a huge 2014, so Shacknews got in touch with creative director Matt Higby to discuss the developer's approach to fan feedback, the upcoming PS4 version, and take questions from the Chatty community.

EverQuest Next Landmark shows limitless potential for truly creative minds, thanks to a fully destructible world and a simple-to-use interface that's akin to learning how to use Adobe Photoshop for the first time. Shacknews recently got a chance to go hands-on with the new alpha.

While Sony Online Entertainment's MMOs are free-to-play, the company offers subscriptions, entitling players to a number of benefits. Starting April, the company plans on doing away with game subscriptions, giving all paid members access to premium content across all of their games.

Online games eventually come to an end. For a number of Sony Online Entertainment's games, that time is sooner than later. Four games will be "sunset," so that the company can "refocus our resources on other areas in the best interest of our company and player community."

We begrudgingly allowed Nintendo The Year of Luigi but look, Sony Online Entertainment, you're not getting away with 'the Year of EverQuest.' As the MMORPG series approaches its, gosh, fifteenth birthday this year, and EverQuest Next Landmark looms on the horizon, the publisher is trying to get us into the spirit of things with a year "full of content and activities." We'll come to the party, SOE, but only if you drop that name.

PlanetSide 2 has updated its developer roadmap and among the notable items is that the long-awaited Hossin continent is now tentatively set to arrive in May.

DC Universe Online begins its Lantern-centric War of Light on January 28, but Legendary members can dive in right now on PC, PS3, and PS4.
