People Can Fly, the studio behind Painkiller, Bulletstorm, and more, have revealed they're back!
People Can Fly, developers of Bulletstorm and Gears of War Judgment have been given a new name from their corporate overlords. The studio is now called "Epic Games Poland," and they've been assigned to Fortnite, a game that apparently still exists.
Gears of War: Judgment is getting another DLC pack. The "Lost Relics" pack is launching in June, and will include a new gametype, four new maps, and assorted weapon and armor skins.
The next Gears of War: Judgment map pack is titled "Call to Arms." It will be coming April 23 for Season Pass holders, or April 30 for everyone else.
Two console-exclusive "of War" prequels released last month, as both Microsoft and Sony attempt to milk their biggest franchises one more time before the next generation begins. And sales are likely to fall short of both franchises' last numbered entries.
Why delay the inevitable? A stay of execution means nothing when you know they're baying for your blood and will extract it from with blade and boot. So, Lancers sharpened, Epic Games has released the free 'Haven' DLC a few days earlier than planned. The pack brings back the Execution multiplayer mode, along with new map Haven.
Gears of War: Judgment has a bit of leftover code on the disc from prior Gears games, letting users access the Warzone multiplayer mode.
Epic Games and People Can Fly have given the traditional Gears of War multiplayer formula somewhat of an overhaul. The result is something that feels familiar, yet fresh and enjoyable, even if there's a fresh stench of DLC in the air.
Judgment is a superfluous and unnecessary addition to the Gears franchise. It fails to live up to the standard set by the previous three games with some pesky AI issues, limited level design, and characters that don't resonate nearly as well as those from the previous games.
