February wasn't a particularly shocking month for the games industry. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still the best-selling game; Xbox 360 is still the best-selling console (for the twelfth month in a row)...
It's not often you see such dramatic drops in sales. According to the latest data from the NPD, "new launch performance" dropped 99% in January 2012, versus 2011.
The Xbox 360 was the top selling console for twelve straight months, the NPD Group has revealed. In December, Microsoft sold "more than 1.7 million" Xbox 360 consoles.
Modern Warfare 3, Just Dance 3, Skyrim, and the Xbox 360 were the December winners as the industry overall 21% versus last year.
