Series mastermind Ken Levine has revealed that the mysterious new BioShock game coming to Sony's new PlayStation Vita handheld is a new game, not a port, and something of a "weird experiment."
Development on the PlayStation Vita is more comparable to the PSP than the PS3, according to Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida.
The PlayStation Vita may miss launching in the UK this year, according to a retail source close to Sony.
As well as getting an official name during E3 week, Sony's handheld previously codenamed the NGP also picked up a bunch of new game announcements. We've kindly compiled a handy list of all the known games for you.
Sony announced a cross-platform action RPG called Ruin, which will let you pick up your progress between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita through cloud saves.
Sony's upcoming NGP handheld will be fully backwards compatible with downloadable PSP games. And it will offer upscaling, to boot.
E3 may be a week away, but Sony released a massive amount of media on some high-profile games for its upcoming NGP portable: Uncharted, Super Stardust, Wipeout, and more.
NGP and PS3 players will be able to play against each other when the new Wipeout for NGP arrives on PlayStation Network.
Sony is denying that the earthquake and tsunami in Japan have had an impact on production of the NGP, calling earlier reports "wrong" and saying the quake has had "no impact."
The next annual instalment of Codemasters' Formula 1 racing series is scheduled for September, also coming in 3DS and NGP editions.
