New Halo announced for Xbox One, coming 2014

You'll never guess what, right: Microsoft's making a new Halo game for the Xbox One. I know! The as-yet-unnamed game is due in 2014 and all we can safely say for certain is that it features some manner of colossal robot-space-angel. Sure, that'll do nicely.

Crimson Dragon coming to Xbox One

Microsoft announced some proper news during its pre-E3 press conference: Deadly Premonition creator Hidetaka 'Swery65' Suehiro and Access Games are making an Xbox One exclusive under the name D4.

Insomniac announces Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive

Resistance and Ratchet & Clank creator Insomniac Games only recently released its first non-Sony-exclusive game, Fuse, but oh my it's really going wild with ditching that exclusivity. During Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference today, the studio announced Sunset Overdrive, an open-world shooter exclusive to Xbox One.

Fable Anniversary revamps first Fable for Xbox 360

Following an awfully obvious teaser trailer, Lionhead has announced that yes, it's jazzing up the original Fable for re-release on Xbox 360 this holiday season. Fable Anniversary, as it's called, boasts updated models and textures and lighting and 1080p support, along with more of the usual "remaster" sorts of things.

State of Decay shambling out in June

Open-world zombie apocalypse survive 'em up State of Decay will launch in June, developer Undead Labs has announced. A PC release will follow later. The studio established by ArenaNet co-founder Jeff Strain also lurched forward with a new trailer clutched in its outstretched arms, showing off snippets of life after undeath.

Age of Empires 2 HD coming to Steam April 9

An updated version of the classic strategy game Age of Empires 2 is coming to Steam on March 9, and it will include the Conquerors expansion pack. Steam is already offering the game at a 10 percent discount until launch.

World Series of Poker: Full House Pro announced for XBLA, Windows 8

"Gotta win 'em all, poker man!" That's how I'd market a poker game, anyway. But Microsoft, for whatever reason, has instead chosen to buddy up with the World Series of Poker to slap its name on an official poke 'em up for Xbox Live Arcade and Windows 8. Coming this Spring, World Series of Poker: Full House Pro will be free-to-play.

Microsoft opens Black Tusk Studios for Halo-scale franchise

Microsoft has opened a shiny new studio in the Canadian city of Vancouver (or Washington D.C. as it's known in The X-Files) to work on its "next big entertainment franchise." What that'll be, well, that's a mystery for now, but Black Tusk Studios has declared its existence to the world and is staffing up.
