Killing Floor free for a week as Summer Sideshow introduces Objective Mode

Summer has now truly begun, with the launch of Killing Floor's latest seasonal event. The free Summer Sideshow: Pier of Pain update introduces another map of steampunk carnival carnage, Steamland, which is the first of Tripwire's new Objective Mode maps. Oh, and the survival shooter is free for everyone to play until July 11. Come, join the festivities!

Left 4 Dead 2 EMS mods and Linux officially launch

Valve's beta version of Left 4 Dead 2 has graduated to become it plain old regular version. Yesterday's update brought the official launch of the co-op shooter's Linux version and the Extended Mutation System that lets modders create complex new modes.

Broken Age running out of money, releasing in two halves on Steam Early Access

Raising $3.4 million may have been far beyond Broken Age's crowdfunding goal of $400,000, but Tim Schafer has said that "didn't stop me from getting excited and designing a game so big that it would need even more money." Facing running out of cash to make the adventure game, Double Fine plans to polish up the first half and release it on Steam Early Access while finishing the rest.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days trailer celebrates DLC launch

With The Walking Dead's DLC episode 400 Days launching today, hitting PS3 first, Telltale has dropped a trailer showing off a little more. You'll never ruddy believe it: 400 days at a truck stop in a zombie apocalypse and it seems humans are once again more trouble than shambling corpses.

Another eight games get the Greenlight on Steam

As lovely as Steam is, it's a shame that many people refuse to buy games not on Valve's store when indie developers need to jump through hoops to get on there. Another eight games have manager to clear the Greenlight process and secure a Steam release, including Guncraft, Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, and Super Motherload.

Beatbuddy brings the noise on August 6

Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians caught our eye--and our ear--last year with its weird metroidvania-ish underwater world. Come August 6, publisher Reverb announced today, we'll all get to poke around and mess with musical flora and fauna to solve puzzles when it hits PC, Mac and Linux.
