SimCity Cities of Tomorrow trailer gets invaded by aliens

For SimCity, the future doesn't involve building out, but rather building up. A new trailer for the Cities of Tomorrow expansion shows off towering skyscrapers that take advantage of unused airspace. Also, there are aliens, for some reason.

Broken Sword 5 slithers out December 4, now episodic

Nostalgia-plying games crowdfunded as the gold rush began are gathering pace, breaching from industry veterans' nebulous realm of "Wouldn't it be cool if?" into our world, our lives, our homes. To make good on its plan to release Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse this year, Revolution Software has split the adventure game into two parts. The first will arrive December 4, the developer announced today, followed by the second in January 2014.

Europa Universalis IV: Conquest of Paradise expansion announced

Paradox's publishing plan is pretty clear by now--release an unapologetically PC-y game, then follow up with oodles of expansions and DLC--so it was never a question of if Europa Universalis IV would get an expansion, but when. December 11 is the answer, when Conquest of Paradise will let you discover, explore, plunder, and murder the New World.

Dementium 2 HD admitting patients in December

Renegade Kid's Dementium series was pleasantly surprising for first-person shooters on Nintendo DS, and soon it'll bring those chills to PC. After announcing Dementium II HD last August then going silent, publisher Digital Tribe has revealed that the horror remake by Memetic Games will launch on December 17.

Samorost 3 due 2015 on PC, iOS and Android

Machinarium creator Amanita Design announced Samorost3 alongside Botanicula back in 2011. While Botanicula launched ages ago, we're only now getting a teensy peek at the new Samorost. The lovely Czech studio has released a short teaser trailer, and revealed that the adventure game is to launch in 2015.
