Meta-RPG Knights of Pen & Paper coming to PC

Yo dawg, I heard you like RPGs, so I put an RPG in your RPG so you can roleplay as you roleplay. People tell me I'm "funny". But hey, look, Paradox Interactive is bringing Behold Studios's "meta-RPG" Knights of Pen & Paper to PC in a shiny +1 Edition, so people sitting at desks can roleplay people sitting at tables roleplaying fantasy heroes off on adventures.

Broken Age is Double Fine's crowdfunded adventure game

In March 2012, Double Fine Productions kicked off the video game crowdfunding goldrush when it raised $3,335,371 in one month to make a new adventure game. Though part of the drive was to fund a documentary recording its progress, it has been a little secretive, but at least we now know the most basic detail: it's called Broken Age.

PixelJunk Inc trailer reveals soupy gameplay

The trials and tribulations of building a canned soup empire in space are revealed in the first gameplay trailer for PixelJunk Inc from Q-Games, the mysterious game formerly known only by its codename PixelJunk 1-6. Unusually for Q, PixelJunk Inc will debut on PC, hitting Mac and Linux too.

Torment Kickstarter adds Chris Avellone stretch goal

As Torment: Tides of Numenera's crowdfunding drive continues to make money hand over fist, developer inXile has added stretch goals to hire two notable names. If it passes $3.25 million, Patrick Rothfuss, author of fantasy series The Kingkiller Chronicle will join up. At $3.5 million, Planescape: Torment lead designer Chris Avellone will work on its self-declared spiritual successor. Cripes, they're only $600,000 short of getting both!

Luftrausers strafing PS3 and Vita this spring

You won't have long to wait, as 2D dogfight 'em up Luftrausers is flying this spring to PC, PlayStation 3, Vita, Mac and Linux, publisher Devolver Digital announced today.

Gone Home trailer rocks riot grrrl

As it creates a simulation of a mid-nineties home so realistic we may perhaps live inside it with some manner of cybergoggles, Gone Home has added some authentic feminist punk music to the explore 'em up VR. Tracks from riot grrrl pioneers Bratmobile and Heavens to Betsy will feature in the tortured teenage tale, developer The Fullbright Company announced today, demonstrating in a new trailer.

Shroud of the Avatar multiplayer options range from offline to dozens online

It seems people are quite keen to play a new RPG from Richard Garriott, creator of the hallowed Ultima series. As Shroud of the Avatar races towards its crowdfunding goal of $1 million, his studio has dropped more information on the various multiplayer options it'll offer. They range from barely online, just seeing other players' effect on the persistent world, to essentially an MMO. Or hey, just play offline.
