Gone Home puts out the welcome mat on August 15

Interaction enthusiasts: you have a fortnight to practice rummaging in drawers, reading other people's letters, and finding audiodiaries, as explore 'em up Gone Home has been dated for August 15. Fun facts: developer The Fullbright Company was founded by three of the folks behind BioShock 2's splendid Minerva's Den DLC; and, though I am clearly some manner of monster, I cried playing Gone Home.

Europa Universalis IV can import Crusader Kings II saves

We can get so attached to the characters and worlds we create in video games, missing them even when we're done with the game itself. How thoroughly splendid, then, that Paradox has created a tool to convert Crusader Kings II saves into worlds playable in the upcoming Europa Universalis IV.

Satellite Reign Kickstarter ends, hitting destructible environments stretch goal

It was looking ropey for a while, but Satellite Reign eventually blew through its £450,000 ($530k-ish) crowdfunding goal and on Sunday wrapped up its main campaign. The self-declared "spiritual successor" to Syndicate Wars hit some fine stretch goals towards the end, so it'll boast both environmental destruction and music from Syndicate series composer Russell Shaw.

Knights of Pen & Paper dev crowdfunding Power Rangers-y TV show sim

Knights of Pen & Paper developer Behold Studios is planning another meta-game, this time a TV sim where you make a Power Rangers-ish show, with layers of running a studio and fighting tactical battles in episodes. It's trying to crowdfund Chroma Squad, and is having a great deal of success so far.

Satellite Reign trailer shows more of Syndicate Wars 'spiritual successor'

With only six days left on its crowdfunding campaign, somehow Satellite Reign may not quite hit its $530,000 (ish) goal. So, to stir up interest, here's a short new trailer of an in-engine "gameplay visualisation" showing how its cyberpunk city and squad-based tactical action may look, complete with a pleasing walking tank.

Wasteland 2 delayed due to expanded scope

inXile Entertainment had long hoped to launch Wasteland 2 in October, but has needed to push its crowdfunded RPG back a little. All those stretch goals it hit have made for a whole lot of extra work, see, so development's running about six weeks behind. inXile now plans to deliver the beta to backers in October.

Dota 2 now out on Mac and Linux

Following the official launch for Windows earlier this month, Valve's, er, Dota clone Dota 2 is now available for Mac and Linux. This sentence is a hilarious joke about how Linux users are already well-prepared for complex systems with unfriendly communities, but Mac users are in for a hell of a ride. Laughs.
