Steam servers suffer DDoS attack

Steam has suffered repeated DDoS attacks that have knocked its storefront down throughout Thursday evening, with a pair of troublemakers claiming responsibility on Twitter.

It's been nine months since Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey smashed its crowdfunding goal (though over six years since the very first plans), and is another eleven until it arrives in November 2014, so how's the game looking at the moment? Pretty good, it seems, going by a new 27-minute gameplay walkthrough narrated by creator Ragnar Tørnquist and design director Martin Bruusgaard.

MX vs. ATV Supercross revives former THQ series

THQ shelved its MX vs. ATV series in 2011 as part of the publisher's drawn-out collapse, but when it finally fell Nordic Games picked up the franchise, along with Darksiders, Red Faction, and more. Of all these, it said, it was closest to announcing something new for the off-road racer, and here it is: MX vs. ATV Supercross is coming in the first half of 2014.

Natural Selection 2 brings back Eclipse

Some FPS maps are stamped into the spatial memory of their players forever: DM6; 2Fort; Q2DM1; Urban; Wake Island; de_dust. For me, ns_eclipse from Natural Selection is up there too, so how wonderful it's now in the mod's commercial sequel. Developer Unknown Worlds yesterday released a Natural Selection 2 patch adding a remake of the classic map, along with a handful of performance optimisations, balance tweaks, and bug fixes.
