3DMark attempts to benchmark Steam Machines

There sure are a lot of Steam Machines to choose from. However, what offers the best bang for the buck? Futuremark has taken an early stab at benchmarking these systems with 3DMark.

Naughty cat sim Catlateral Damage releases new playable alpha

Like many single women approaching 30, I have a cat (I'm fine), and spend a lot of time clearing up after it (that's less fine). To my delight, "first-person destructive cat simulator" Catlateral Damage has just released a new public alpha version giving a rare opportunity to see what's so great about my little darling's favourite hobby.

Steam Family Options launches out of beta

As Valve winds up for the first wave of Steam Machines to hit living rooms this month, it's making sure the software is in shape too. One important feature for a more console-y system is a way to parents to keep innocent young eyes away from horrid adult content, so they can play Peggle but not, say, Saw. No child should suffer that. After a spot of public testing, Valve this week brought Steam's Family Options into the main client.
