Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter launched

Hey, you! Do you want a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment? I am, of course, only asking for rhetorical effect: you do. You'll need to pay for it, though. inXile Entertainment today launched its crowdfunding campaign to make Torment: Tides of Numenera, a thematic and tonal follow-up set in the Numenera universe--itself a Kickstarter success. inXile needs $900,000 to make the RPG for PC, Mac and Linux, so get pledging.

InXile Entertainment has launched a new website for its spiritual successor to PlaneScape: Torment, and is already getting fan input about items they would like to see when the company eventually launches its Kickstarter campaign.

Wasteland 2 walkthrough reveals early gameplay

Ten months after its smash-hit Kickstarter ended, inXile Entertainment has shown off the first proper footage of the crowdfunded Wasteland 2. The trailer packs a whopping fifteen minutes of post-apocalyptic RPG fun, narrated by dev director Chris Keenan, looking a fine follow-up to the 1998 classic.

The spiritual successor to PlaneScape: Torment being developed by inXile Entertainment is going to rely on many of the themes and exotic settings hat made the original so popular, according to inXile chief Brian Fargo. Since the PlaneScape world is unavailable, the recently Kickstarted RPG world of Numenera will be used.

A PlaneScape: Torment successor appears to be in pre-production at InXile Entertainment, minus the PlaneScape name. Black Isle alum Colin McComb is taking the helm of the project with the blessing of original lead designer Chris Avellone.

Wasteland 2 video plays with camera angles

A short demonstration of Wasteland 2 was shown at Unite 2012, and Inxile's Brian Fargo offered it to show what the in-game camera can do. Unfortunately, it shows pretty much the same scene revealed in the game's first screenshot.
