Far Cry Classic has launched on consoles, and Ubisoft released a new launch trailer to show off the port.

After a strange spot of confusion, Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry Classic will indeed be coming to North America--next week, in fact. Ubi's HD revamp of the series-sparking shooter was included in the European equivalent of the Far Cry Compilation, but, for whatever reason, in North America it'll be a $9.99 download on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Far Cry Compilation will celebrate Far Cry's 10th anniversary by bringing Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon to PS3 owners on one single disc.

Given how massively successful both Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon were, it's unsurprising Ubisoft would work on a sequel. And given that the number 4 follows the number 3...

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was inspired by recent pulp-action cinema, as creative lead Dean Evans became enamored with movies like Hobo with a Shotgun.

You may already have seen proper gameplay footage from Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon after it leaked through Uplay, but any commentary on it was mostly likely a teenage YouTuber hurling obscenities. No, what you want is creative director Dean Evans narrating eight minutes of action from the downloadable throwback spin-off. All his swearing and wailing is official and sanctioned, see.
