Star Wars: Battlefront announced by EA

Oh how much gnashing of teeth there was after LucasArts cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3, from fans and makers alike. But the boldly-going Battlefield-style shooter will live long and hopefully prosper after EA picked up the Star Wars license, as the publisher today announced it's working on its own Star Wars: Battlefront game.

Twitch streaming integrated with Xbox One

The PlayStation 4 has a 'Share' button on the controller so people can show off cool things, but what about the Xbox One? Microsoft revealed something during its pre-E3 press conference that may not be quite as snazzy, but is still most welcome: Twitch.tv integration. Gold members will be able to blast their play out to the video streaming site, as well as watch others' streams.

Metal Gear Solid 5 E3 trailer is brilliant; confirms Xbox One

Confirming at E3 that Metal Gear Solid V was indeed coming to Xbox One would not be exciting; we'd all already guessed that. What was jolly ruddy flipping exciting was how Microsoft announced at during its pre-E3 press conference: with a fantastic wonderful lovely gameplay trailer showing off the open-world sneak 'em up.

The Witcher 3 first gameplay trailer hits as Xbox One confirmed

Is no surprise that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to Xbox One too, given that developer CD Projekt RED was vague about platforms when announcing for PlayStation 4. What was both surprising and delightful, however, was that the confirmation during Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference also brought the open-world RPG's first gameplay trailer.

New Halo announced for Xbox One, coming 2014

You'll never guess what, right: Microsoft's making a new Halo game for the Xbox One. I know! The as-yet-unnamed game is due in 2014 and all we can safely say for certain is that it features some manner of colossal robot-space-angel. Sure, that'll do nicely.
