We sit down for a behind-closed-doors E3 demo of The Cave, an upcoming Metroidvania-style adventure game developed by Ron Gilbert and Double Fine.
When Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert joined Double Fine in 2010, he teased an adventure game project that'd been rattling around his head for a few years. Today it's finally been revealed as The Cave, coming to PC and unspecified consoles in early 2013.
A set of teaser images that link together indicates that Sega may be publishing Ron Gilbert's first project at Double Fine Productions.
Double Fine's Kickstarter adventure came to a close as a rousing success.
Tim Schafer has revealed that the current funding for Double Fine's Kickstarter adventure is nearing the levels used to make Grim Fandango.
Double Fine's charming Stacking is now available for PC through Steam, for only $9.99 thanks to a launch discount. It comes complete with the matryoshka doll puzzler's trampy DLC, The Lost Hobo King.
What could be nicer on a Monday evening than Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert talking about adventure games for 35 minutes? Very little, that's what, so have a watch of this new video documentary segment.
Markus "Notch" Persson has taken to his blog to set realistic expectations about his offer to help fund Psychonauts 2.
Double Fine's extra adventure game monies will go towards mobile versions, English voice acting, and subtitles for various languages.
How much would Notch have to cough up to make Psychonauts 2 a reality? $13 million--a sum the Minecraft creator "can do."
