World of Tanks developer and publisher Wargaming has acquired Day 1 Studios as part of a move to enter console development. It paid $20 milllion for the maker of MechAssault and F.E.A.R. 3, now named Wargaming West, and plans to put it to work on an unannounced console game. Wargaming's speciality is free-to-play MMOs, with World of Warships and World of Warplanes on the way too, so something F2P for consoles wouldn't be unexpected.
MechAssault series developer Day 1 Studios is returning to the wonderful world of big stompy mechs with Reign of Thunder. The new mech 'em up is clanking towards PC, where it'll be free-to-play.
Art for a Batman game pitched to THQ about two years ago has surfaced, featuring the Dark Knight in a steampunk-like universe inspired by an Elseworlds comic published in 1989.
F.E.A.R. 3 developer Day 1 Studios has been reportedly forced to lay off 95 percent of one of its development teams due to a publishing agreement with Konami that went south.
We go back to visit F.E.A.R. 3, which launched in late June, to see if the game deserves your attention. Did you miss a scary hidden gem, or is F.E.A.R. 3 better left undiscovered?
