Nordic Games development director Reinhart Pollice says it's starting to work with small teams to explore the franchises it picked up from THQ, but in some cases the company is still waiting for assets.
Nordic Games has outlined its preliminary plans and hopes for the various THQ properties it recently picked up, including Darksiders, Red Faction, and Titan Quest.
Darksiders 3 is in limbo right now after the demise of THQ and the subsequent purchase of the IP by Nordic Games. But what would have happened if Vigil could have carried the series forward? Co-op multiplayer for one.
"Most of these games have sold in the millions. There is a love for these titles. Red Faction has millions of fans. They were disappointed with the last installment, but I think there is potential in it. And of course Darksiders, everyone, everyone would like to see something come from that."
For $4.9 million, Nordic Games has acquired Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs ATV, and more from THQ.
Crytek USA CEO David Adams has said he plans to bid on the Darksiders IP when it goes up for auction, claiming he wants to bring it "home with its creators."
Platinum Games has expressed an interest in both recruiting talent from Vigil Games and purchasing the Darksiders IP, though it says it would be "on the cheap."
