Crysis 3's multiplayer beta starts next week and lasts through February 12, giving players a chance to try two game modes and two maps before the game launches on February 19.

Gosh, aren't guns cool! They're all sleek and shiny, and making loud noises when you kill things. So cool! A new Crysis 3 trailer is dedicated to its new 'Typhoon' super-mega-cool gun, which EA says is "the culmination of 2,000 years of human warfare" and "the purest form of expression." With such an erotic weapon, you could be forgiven for wanting to seductively run your tongue across the tips of its ten barrels.

Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli talks about making Crysis free-to-play, and how it will make the franchise more accessible.

PCnauts have become pretty complacent about system requirements of multiplatform games, knowing even a modest gaming PC is faster than the consoles so they should be fine. Crysis 3 is a little less forgiving. The system requirements are confirmed, so you may want to start eying an upgrade if you fancy playing Crytek's super-suit shooter with all the bells and whistles on.

The urban rainforest of New York City is the playground for Crysis 3, unless you are the CELL troopers trying to stay alive as Prophet silently picks them off with his bow from stealth in his nanosuit. A new trailer shows off single-player action in a new area of the Seven Wonders of the Liberty Dome, called The Fields.

Crytek is considering its next steps for the Crysis series after the upcoming Crysis 3, but says it will be a longer-term project due to attempting a more radical shift.

Crysis 3 pre-orders will get a download code for the original Crysis, plus a "Hunter Edition" that includes some some multiplayer perks.

But for some, Crysis 2 is still not as blisteringly beautiful as it should be. That's where the MaLDoHD mod comes in.

Are you buying Crysis 3 for its multiplayer? No, of course you're not: you're interested in the single-player campaign. However, as you'll be paying for multiplayer anyway, you may as well give it a go before you return to your online vice of choice.
