Neal Stephenson's crowdfunded Clang on hold, awaiting investment

Author and sword-lover Neal Stephenson raised over half a million dollars with his dream of a realistic motion-controlled swordfighting game, but Clang is now on indefinite hold after failing to land further investment.

This comes after it launched another big free update, and has kicked off a free weekend and sale to draw in more players.

Precinct cancels Kickstarter, opens tiered crowdfunding

Precinct, the indie title from Police Quest creator Jim Walls, has canceled its Kickstarter campaign and started up its own tiered funding model. The new model rewards backers with working demos based on different phases of development.

Satellite Reign Kickstarter ends, hitting destructible environments stretch goal

It was looking ropey for a while, but Satellite Reign eventually blew through its £450,000 ($530k-ish) crowdfunding goal and on Sunday wrapped up its main campaign. The self-declared "spiritual successor" to Syndicate Wars hit some fine stretch goals towards the end, so it'll boast both environmental destruction and music from Syndicate series composer Russell Shaw.

Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding relaunched

Precursor Games has relaunched its crowdfunding campaign for Shadow of the Eternals, a "spiritual successor" to GameCube survival horror Eternal Darkness made by some of the folks behind the original at Silicon Knights. Which proved to be a bit of a problem, as many don't have much confidence in them anymore. Still, it's trying again, this time with a less ambitious goal of $750,000.
