CD Projekt to open US studio, license REDengine by 2016

CD Projekt is already planning well beyond the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, revealing on its website in a strategy document that it hopes to release "two smaller" games based on its existing franchises and a "cross-platform game on mobile platforms" by 2016.

Given that in the future we'll all be jacking into cyberspace and diving darknets all the time, it seems only fitting that Cyberpunk 2077 should offer multiplayer. Developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed that its cyberpunk RPG will indeed have "multiplayer features," but is awfully tight-lipped about what form they'll take. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt might have multiplayer too.

The Witcher 3 riding onto PlayStation 4

You may have CD Projekt Red's logo pop up in Sony's big list of third-party developers at the PlayStation 4 announcement and guessed, and it was hardly a secret anyway, but now it's properly confirmed: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is indeed coming to PlayStation 4. The splendid series started on PC then spread to Xbox 360 with the sequel, but this is the first time the gritty RPG will be on any PlayStation.

CD Projekt Red already had us intrigued with the thought of a Cyberpunk 2020-style game teleported some 57 years into the future. But its first for Cyberpunk 2077 showing a bloodied blonde with alien-like augments kneeling in the middle of a mass of bodies just raised this game quite high on my want-to-play list. Oh, and bullets shatter on her face.
