Atlus announced a boatload of new Persona games this weekend: Persona 5 for PS3, a 3DS dungeon crawler, a PS3 fighting game, and a Vita rhythm game.
"When two game companies love each other very much, a magical thing happens. ATLUS and Spike Chunsoft didn't use protection when localizing and publishing together and are now the proud parents of the turn-based RPG Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars."
When Atlus said that Cross-Play was coming soon to VanillaWare's hack 'n' slash Dragon's Crown, it really meant it. Only six days after its announcement, the publisher yesterday rolled out a patch adding cross-platform multiplayer between the PS3 and Vita editions.
Dragon's Crown will receive a cross-play patch soon, so PS3 and Vita owners will soon be able to join up in the same session.
Sega has reportedly purchased Index Corporation, parent company of publisher Atlus, for 14 billion yen ($141 million).
The second trailer for Tex Murphy is a lengthy eight-minute affair that shows off much (if not all) of the cast list.
Atlus has announced that it will publish Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, the revival that had a successful Kickstarter campaign last year. It's coming in 2014.
Continuing its fine tradition of ferreting out Japanese curios for North American releases, publisher Atlus has announced it's bringing Examu's 2D fighting game AquaPazza to PS3. It's a port of an arcade game based upon several visual novels by Aquaplus, which results in an electic cast ranging from bookshelf-throwing schoolgirls to actual warriors.
A follow-up to Persona 4 Arena has been announced. The sequel-of-sorts will add two additional fighters: Yukari and Junpei, both from Persona 3.
