Metro: Last Light trailer teaches post-apocalyptic survival

Pop quiz, hotshot. You're dropped into the subways of post-apocalyptic Moscow where humanity cowers in the wake of nuclear war. What do you do? Once you've collected yourself and stopped rocking in a ball on the floor, that is. If you follow the survival guide in the new Metro: Last Light trailer series, you might just have a chance. You'll probably still be eaten by mutants or shot by men, though.

Metro: Last Light set for May 14 release by new publisher

Metro: Last Light has been slightly delayed as it switched publishers in the wake of THQ's collapse, but not massively so. New publisher Deep Silver today announced that it'll arrive on May 14 after a little extra work, back a bit from the planned March launch. 4A Games' post-apocalyptic FPS is headed to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Metro: Last Light 'Ranger' difficulty comes in Limited Edition

Metro: Last Light's hardcore 'Ranger Mode' difficulty setting "provides the definitive Metro experience," according to publisher THQ's creative strategist Huw Beynon. Yet it won't be included in the base game, oh no, rather you'll need to pre-order or buy it early to ensure you get a 'Limited Edition' copy. How awfully creative. Presumably it'll be sold separately as DLC too.

Metro: Last Light trailer focuses on model character

Moscow is a shell of it's former self in Metro: Last Light. THQ is using live-action trailers to get emphasize the post-apocalyptic feel of the game, and the latest revolves around a young model who has lost everything.

Metro: Last Light drops multiplayer to focus on campaign

Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager recently raged against being forced to include multiplayer in its single-player-focused game, received with whoops and cheers by the peanut gallery. If only more games could go undiluted! Huzzah, then, that Metro: Last Light developer 4A Games has dropped plans for adding multiplayer to Metro 2033's sequel, choosing instead to focus its resources on the single-player campaign.
