As we're getting closer to the 100th episode of the Stevetedo show, it has me thinking about some of the best moments of the show thus far. The show has become a place for me to play some of my favorite classic games as well as some of the classic games I might have missed over the course of my life. That being said, let's look back at some of my more memorable moments.
Playing games I missed in my younger years has become a staple of the show and the likes of Punch-Out!!, Super Punch-Out!!, and Final Fantasy 3 have been shown on the program. Me failing time and time again to Soda Popinski during the NES Punch-Out!! was torture but good for the content as it comes up in chat from time to time, calling me "Soda Tyminski." It could also be said that Final Fantasy 3 was a great playthrough but I have mentioned that the Cultist's Tower, and all the horror that came with it, almost ruined the whole game for me.
My Mario RPG playthorugh was one of my favs as I got to perform all my silly voices in one setting as there were so many different characters in Mario RPG. I also played SNES Pilotwings for the first time and until you play it, you don't realize how tough some of the more simplistic actions are. It could also be said that I realize how much more the N64 version is like the SNES version. I'll also throw Zelda 2 into the mix of a game that I've wanted to complete for quite some time. It's one of the tougher NES games around and it felt good to finally complete it.
What does the future hold for the Stevetendo show? Well, this week we'll be continuing Super Metroid, the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past(part of my 35th anniversary celebration of Zelda) and Chrono Trigger. If you have a game that's part of the NES/SNES online service on the Switch that you want me to play, come out to the show and save those Shack points! It's been a fun ride so far and it's only going up!
