Solstice Incremental Clicks

Solstice Incremental Clicks

Each week Solstice will review a clicker/incremental game. NOTE: Solstice accepts no liability for time lost or mice clicked into oblivion. All readers assume all risks. THIS WEEK: Crafting Idle Clicker on Steam Developer: Bling Bling Studios Site: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1250790/Crafting_Idle_Clicker/

I started playing this game way back in the day on Kongregate. BlingBling made the decision to port to Steam as Kong is shutting down their webside operations to move to an app based model. The game play is identical on Steam as it was on the old Unity platform. You start with 10 dollars of game currency and an empty field to build your workflows on. Starting with Wood you click your way to new recipies, each recipie costing much more than the last , and you are of course rewarded with greater returns as you sell higher level tools, items and ores.

The game features two main fields, your Workshop, where you will spend the bulk of your time and clicks, and the event field where you will have limited time to create specific recipies for gold, more Blueprints and fame.  The Event system is very stress free too as if you miss out on the first run, they come back again every few months. The main reason to run the events is to gain many new blueprints for your workshop and to gain Diamonds, the ingame premium currency. As of this writing I have been able to save up over 2000 diamonds, spend them, and save up almost 100 more in less than two weeks. You can pay cashie monies to gain them, but personally just playing the game has afforded me enough.

The prestige system is very in depth, to the point of feeling overwhelming at times. There are thousands of blueprints to unlock and upgrade. Everything from simple wood, to electromagnets, to high end electronics. And you must create the workflows for them all. The first level of prestige is Fame. You gain fame by hitting certain dollar levels, and when your fame is great enough you can reset to double the workshop/events payout at each products level. There is also a second layer to prestige where you run a complete full reset to upgrade the amount of blueprints you receive on a shop reset. Doing this is a big reset as you start from scratch on your workshop level, BUT get to keep all the blueprints and new recipies you have previously unlocked. As far as prestige systems go, this one is up there as one of my favourites due to the reward definitely being worth the reset and the multi tier reset mechanic.

All in all this has been one of my favourite clickers to play, and dare I say it's more fun and engaging than the clickers of olde. Looking at you here Cookie Clicker.

Final Rating: A solid 8 out of 10. It's free on Steam so go waste some CPU Cycles and enjoy!!!
