Today, Peter Molyneaux celebrates his 427th birthday. This marks a milestone in the legacy of the spirited, aspiring game designer, who has promised to "act on, and deliver" innovative ideas in the video games industry for four hundred and twenty seven years, in dog years.
Molyneaux; "Like in any other aspect of life, the harder you try, the closer you get to your goals. There is never a reason to give up. "Quitters never win, winners never quit", as the old adage goes."
Peter's legacy represents the struggle, the journey, and the little victories that pave our road to triumph.
Molyneaux; "Although I have been attempting to design a video game for 427 years, and have yet to fully deliver on my promises, I aim to intensify efforts nonetheless in the coming years. Even though I am nearly 5 centuries years old, and have yet to fully deliver on a single promise, there is plenty of time left, as I don't plan to retire until I am much older. Maybe when I am 490. That's plenty of time, right?"
"Peter Molyneaux is my pick for 'aspiring game designer'", says Chris Huntersworth, 41, from Ann Arbor. "I gave him a hug once, at the IGDA conference. I actually touched him. It was incredible. His soft fur just running between your fingers. Just fucking adorable."
