Hey all, it's a holiday weekend, so unfortunately Indie-licious won't on this Monday, but I happened to see that a certain game I played on the show has some cool news.
Skul: The Hero Slayer is a pixelated roguelike adventure in which the good guys are absolutely running the bad guys through the ringer. You're a minion of the Demon Lord who wants to help turn the tide. A lowly skeleton knight, your weakness because strength as you wield the skulls of powerful creatures and dark heroes to beat back the forces of good. Skul: The Hero Slayer has been in early access for a while on Steam and is now hitting its official 1.0 on January 21, 2021!
The game is currently only on Steam, but this launch is still a great milestone. It was one of my favorite episodes of Indie-licious in 2020 as I had a blast with the game and its cheeky tale of playing for the bad guys. It's also nice and challenging with randomized levels and bosses, but also rewarding with a ton of skulls to explore that offer various and interesting abilities, as well as other cool power-ups.
If you're a fan of retro-style action platformers, roguelikes, or just want something lighthearted to play, I wholeheartedly suggest you give Skul a go. I'll definitely keep an eye out and let y'all know if I see it headed to further platforms.
