OK here's my first shot at this Cortex stuff. I've shared some of my son's compositions on here in the past but I figured this would be a good way to repost some stuff, and showcase some new stuff from him.
He is a first year music major at East Carolina University, double majoring in music performance (tuba) and music composition.
Here are two of my favorite pieces that he has done.
"Dwellings" - Duet for Bass Clarinet and Bassoon
"Adagio Romanza"
Now a couple of fun things. He recently started leaning towards possibly getting into composing film scores and scores for video games. And is thinking about applying for the film scoring program at USC. We're a couple of years away from that though, but that is what his current mindset is.
With that in mind, here are two fun things he's done recently. The first is a deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens that he found online with no musical score. He put his own score behind the scene and I think it's pretty awesome.
The second is a theme song for his favorite League of Legends champion, Teemo. He recently started playing League with his high school music director, and he suggested this would be a cool exercise for him to try out.
If you guys get a chance to listen and enjoy these, check out some of his other stuff, and leave him some likes. He gets pretty happy when he sees his view counts and likes go up.
