Part 2 of ocean pictures from yesterday. Ruby Beach, WA

Yesterday I posted 13 pictures from my trip to the ocean. Today I found 13 more to share. Some are just mildly interesting textures, others are more scenic. I found more with good sunrise colors.

I found 13 more pictures and a video. Let me know what you think. Sunrise was at about 7:30 AM, and I started taking pictures around 6:50.

30 seconds of waves. Destruction Island in the background. (sound warning) https://streamable.com/6rjumt

I took 4 pictures of this rock at different times and angles. Each one is different, due to the waves.

7:06 AM, it's still kind of dark. I like this one because the water kind of looks like fog. 3000x2000

7:07 AM, same rock, different camera settings. I like the shape the wave makes as it goes around and over the rock. 3000x2000

7:09 AM, I moved down lower for a different view of the rock. 3000x2000

Rogue wave, run! The rock is in there somewhere. I did get swamped a few times, but luckily I had waterproof boots on and my socks didn't get wet. 3000x2000

7:20 AM, looking east. It was a nice sunrise. I'm kind of bummed I wasn't at a nice mountain, but it was a good morning at the beach too. 3000x2000

This picture relaxes me. What was I saying about missing the nice sunrise? Ah, well. Beautiful morning, I was happy to be on the beach. I like the detail in the rocks in the front and in the water. Curvy seafoam, some wave action, and nice reflection in the water. Colorful sky and tree silhouette. 7:23 AM. I made this one big. 6000x4000

Detail of Abbey Island (left) and waves hitting the rocks. 7:26 AM. 2000x3000

Destruction Island and lighthouse at sunrise, 7:30 AM. 2000x3000

I've looked in this direction before, but it changes every time. 7:39 AM. 3440x1440

Wanna-be sand. Right now just small rocks. 3000x2000

Sunrise colors in the sky have faded, but the sun is still rising here on the (almost) westernmost tip of the continental US. 9:03 AM and I like how the sun is hitting some of the rocks, but not all of them. 3440x1440

I saw these lines of pine needles. High water mark, maybe? 2000x3000

Here's the 'crowd' near the entrance to the beach. I had been by myself for 3+ hours as I walked the beach (behind me in this picture). There were a couple families, a couple photographers by the rock with the hole in it (which I didn't really take pictures of), and a few other people wandering around, all staying away from each other. 10:24 AM. 3000x2000

That's it for new ones. I was tired and didn't stop for more on the way home. It was almost 400 miles of driving, but I'm satisfied.

Wish we could head out to the coast here in BC. Vancouver island coastal areas are asking people to stay away because the towns are so small and isolated, and we obviously can't go south across the border. I'll just have to enjoy your photos. ;o

Yeah. The reservations on the coast are closed, so no access to some of the other scenic beaches near here.

      Oh, work.
