IllFonic’s multiplayer Ghostbuster game shows no signs of slowing down. Today, the game studio showcased an hour-long live stream showing off updates, skins, and quality of life improvements to Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. Amoung the announcements came something that was teased in a previous interview with the CCO of IllFonic, Jared Gerritzen, which involved the topic of ‘The Real Ghostbusters’, an animated children’s television show that aired in 1986, based off the huge cinematic hit film ‘Ghostbusters’ in 1984.
I had thought the show had been forgotten to time (Although it still holds up in 2023). It was a fantastic show with awesome stories, amazing ghost designs, and epic music. It clearly inspired the team at IllFonic based off the Ghost designs alone. Community Coordinator, Albert Huang & Design Director, Jordan Mathewson, showed off a new transmog system called “Gear Shells” that allows you to change the visual style of your equipment on your Ghostbuster. To my surprise they’ve added ‘Real Ghostbusters’ cosmetics in the form of the Proton Pack, Particle Thrower, PKE, Ghost Trap & yes, even the iconic hair from our cartoon heroes, Peter, Ray, Winston, Egon, & even Janine Metviz.
I’m beyond excited! I cannot wait to put these on my Ghostbuster. IllFonic is killing it when it comes to the Ghostbuster fan community!
