So the bedtime story selection has gotten stale. Llama llama red pajama, owl tried to sleep, where's my cow (disc world)... any recommendations for fresh bedtime stories?
Will probably try the local library, but it would be nice to have an idea list so I don't feel so overwhelmed by the ginormous children's section.

My partner was looking for such a thing the other day and we found this NPR list that looked pretty good. We ordered a few from a local bookseller.

And... just fyi "kids" or "young'uns" is probably a... more what you're looking for term than littles.

Every circle I’ve been in for the past 12 years of being a dad has someone (parents, teachers, caretakers) that calls them “littles”. It’s a completely fine and accepted term.

I was going to suggest Bea Wolf, a retelling of Beowulf for kids by Zach Weinersmith, but I guess it's not actually out yet.

Your kid(s) also might not be quite old enough for it, even if it's being read to them.
The other night I started telling my 4 year old the Die Hard inspired bedtime story when he stopped me and said “Daddy I don’t want you to tell the story about John McClane saving Christmas again, I want a new story”
I couldn’t keep from laughing, proud dad moment for sure!
