There comes a time in every Destiny 2 player’s life where they decide whether or not they want to hoard bounties for a new season. This time has come for me. I’ve done it once before, at the start of Season of Plunder. Now with Lightfall coming out, the process has started all over again.
Why would I do such a silly thing like collect 180+ bounties and leave them in my inventory, unclaimed, while I wait for the new season? Great question! It’s so that when the new season arrives, I can claim them all, gain the XP stored within, and rocket through the season pass and more importantly, level up the seasonal artifact.
Nearly every time you level up the artifact you can get a new mod. These mods are critical in completing endgame activities like the raid. Because Lightfall will have a new raid, and because I’ll most likely be attempting to clear it Day One (with a stream to accompany it), I need to be prepared.
Truthfully, I started this process last season. I didn’t really like Season of Plunder, so I spent some free time collecting bounties to make life a bit easier in the lead up to Lightfall. It’s paid off. Note that I've still got some more work to do. Obviously the seasonal bounties aren't being hoarded, they're for XP I need right now. I'll also be cycling out 6,000XP bounties for 12,000XP bounties each week.
There are some other bits and pieces I plan to do to prepare for Destiny 2: Lightfall, but I think that warrants a nice big guide.
