I've been using Silverstone Ft02 since 2011. It's been through many builds. When I bought the Bad Boy 4090, I knew it wouldn't fit into the case as is. Have you seen the memes???
Thankfully I got the Suprim Liquid, but it was like basically having two smaller cards, with the radiator card requiring special cooling...somewhere.
I determined that the radiator card needed to go where all the legacy HD bays were.
It was time to get to work. I first unscrewed the outer steel case. Look at all of that dog hair. Gross!!
I removed the legacy drives. The HDD wasn't even hooked up. I still used the SSDs on occasion. This was when more upgrades started happening. I bought a 980 Pro m2 drive to replace the legacy drives.
I also had to order a rivet gun for when I put this all back together. In the meantime, I was drilling out rivets like a boss.
Those bottom fans were looking pretty old as well and made a lot of noise. One was already dead (removed). I decided to replace them all with Noctua fans (more on that later).
In the meantime, it was time to install the 980 pro...
I was finally able to test out the 4090, and let me tell you, it was a beast.
The last part was mounting the radiator to the front using a random part I found off Amazon. I had to rivet the part into the front of the case to keep it still, then I was able to screw the radiator into it.
A billion screws later, I had the outer case back on. I'm still waiting for the 90 degree cable adapter to arrive so I can close up the case, but it turned out pretty well. I also replaced all of the bottom fans with noctua fans, and the case is super quiet.
