Some of last year's albums are worth noting even though I didn't get to them until sometime this year. So here's a post with some of those noteworthy albums and eps that didn't make my top albums of last year, but are worth checking out!
- Turnstile - GLOW ON
Genre: Hardcore Punk
Review: Insanely catchy, with a really great production. Reminds me a little bit of The Offspring, but that doesn't really do it justice. This album is surprisingly consistent in quality front to back, top notch.
Sample: BLACKOUT TURNSTILE - BLACKOUT [OFFICIAL VIDEO] - Silent Planet - Iridescent
Genre: Metalcore
Review: Heavy af, with a cool semi industrial synth vibe? The album is a bit of a journey. Has some great highs.
Sample: Till We Have Faces Silent Planet - Till We Have Faces - Invent Animate - The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Review: Well, this was my introduction to this band. Pretty short three (mostly 2) track ep. Love it. The mood of the second track kind of reminding me of Junius who I have missed since their last album in 2017.
Sample: Invent Animate - The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was [Official Music Video] - The Stranger - Kaleidoscope
Genre: Progressive Metal/Rock
Review: Clean progressive metal with catchy keys. I'm looking forward to seeing what these guys do next.
Sample: Eleventh Hour The Stranger - Eleventh Hour (Official Music Video) - Claemus - Daydream
Genre: Progressive Metal/Rock
Review: Reminds me a bit of Karnivool. Good stuff. They put out a new single this year as well.
Sample: Recovery Claemus // Recovery // Daydream - Failure - Wild Type Droid
Genre: Alternative
Review: New to this band but I guess they were pretty space themed until this album and have been around since the 90s. Not sure what to say, I enjoy good alternative/indie music and this is that.
Sample: Submarines Failure - Submarines - Lyric Video
