Back in the day before I became the Co-EIC here at Shacknews I was a picture framer for a number of years. In that time I collected a lot of art and, as one would expect, put everything in fancy pants frames. Now, even though my days of cutting glass and gluing frames together are over, I still have an penchant for collecting art.
Most recently I picked up a couple of prints from a local San Francisco artist named Brandon Stewart. A friend of mine showed me some recent art Brandon had done of my beloved Metroid series and of course I had to pick it up. The big surprise was the Evangelion print that they had secretly negotiated for me though.
I gotta say, I really dig the graffiti-style influence on both pieces and the color palettes really pop. I'm a big fan of bright, vibrant colors and I've fallen in love with both pieces. I can't wait to get them framed and hung up on my wall at my new place. If you're looking for some cool and nerdy art, I'd definitely give Brandon's Etsy shop a look.
