We're getting a brand new Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles games this week with Shredder's Revenge and from what I've played at PAX East and from what other people have said, we're in for a real treat. That being said, it makes me think what franchises did I play as kid that need to come back to the forefront.
I'm going to start with one of my favorite games, Snow Brothers for the NES. Now, I might be the only person who still talks about this game but it left such an impression on me as a kid. So much so that when I could, I bought the copy from Blockbuster video, so I wouldn't have to keep renting it. I know Limited Run Games is bringing the arcade version out and I'm grateful for that but I would love a new installment of the franshise. During the summer convention season, you can hope for so many things but eventually be disappointed.
Another one of my favorite arcade games, The Simpsons game, should have been ported to consoles back in the day. I have the Windows/PC version that my brother and I played to death but it just isn't the same. It would be cool to see a new Simpsons beat em up game but I don't see it happening. Wishful thinking on my part but you never know.
Lastly, I have two series to talk about here that are probably never gonna happen. I got fooled by one this year and then I thought better of it in terms of the other one. I got caught hoping for a new Banjo-Kazooie but then I thought better of myself, wanting another Mega Man game. The Xbox presentation during "E3" week got me but I didn't allow myself to hope during the Capcom presentation. That being said, if a new Mega Man game is anything like 11, then I can wait for Capcom to take their time and give the fans something better.
I'll end with this, when I was looking up the image for this, I didn't realize that Capcom gave us Snow Bros. No wonder we haven't seen anything from this franchise in recent years? I'll have to start going after Capcom for this...
