Nintendo is known for making crap that you don't really need, but you buy anyway, and Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is the latest waste of money from the Kyoto-based video game giant. They released the trinket last week to face off with the PS5 and Xbox Series X next-gen consoles.
While PS5 actually has some decent launch games like Bugsnax, Demon's Souls, and Miles Morales, Xbox Series X owners are left playing the same old crap like Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, and a raft of games that have been out for awhile. Like Crackdown 3. Some games have been optimized for Series X, but who the hell wants to replay games from the Xbox One era?
There's no Master Chief this year, thanks to Microsoft's uncanny ability to trip over their dick, so Xbox players are going to have to wait until at least 2021 to Halo it up with their pals.
Contrast this with Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. which ships with three games: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japanese release), and Ball. These games have all been remastered to work with the cutting edge display technology that ships with the product. The device also ships with a clock, which is pretty rad.
Xbox Series X purchasers remain in denial after shelling out ten times the price of the Game & Watch and receiving less launch titles for their shiny new console than a half-ass Nintendo chotsky.
