My high school experience was instrumental in blossoming my love for movies. My Senior Year film class in particular made me want to try my hand at filmmaking. After directing a short film for our final project, I decided to make a movie of my own. I wrote a script that had the working title “Voodoo Pictures,” which we even shot most of. I recently found the script deep in my gmail and am sharing it here for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
I wrote this script back in July 2016, about a month after I graduated from high school. A passion for horror and thriller, I thought it would be neat to craft a story that teetered the line between funny and creepy. My friends Natasha and Chloe were kind enough to agree to play the roles of Piper and Alanah, respectively. They’re both incredibly talented and still act to this day!
The script is pretty rough, but I’m proud of it. Reading through it 6 years later, I was impressed with my formatting and descriptive text. I also remember being determined to write natural-feeling dialogue. Honestly, it gives me the itch to take another shot at writing a movie.
As I mentioned up top, we actually shot a lot of the script, probably around 80% of it! I still have all of the footage in my Google drive, and hey, maybe someday I’ll upload that here. One of these days I’d live to sit down and edit together what I have, just to say I finished my project.
