How to order free COVID tests from the government
There is a website that has been created for this very purpose. Head to COVIDtests.gov and click the Order Free At-Home Tests button.
This will load a form to place your order at USPS.com. Enter all the required information into the form, including your first and last name, as well as your address. Once you've double-checked all your information, click the Check Out Now button. Don't worry, while it appears to be a transaction, it is for a Total of $0.00 with $0.00 Shipping & Handling.
Will the government send me more free COVID tests?
Sadly, this seems to be a one time thing at the moment. Here are the rules posted on the USPS.com website.
Residential households in the U.S. can order one set of 4 free at-home tests from USPS.com. Here’s what you need to know about your order:
- Limit of one order per residential address
- One order includes 4 individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests
- Orders will ship free starting in late January
For many households in America, four tests won't be enough. We can only hope that this will happen again, but as the pandemic ravages most parts of the nation, we should all take the four free tests even if we don't personally need them. You might be able to help someone else out in a tight spot.
No matter why you want to get these free COVID tests, this guide has you covered. I will be updating this if the Biden administration gets their act together and does something more than send four individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests to American households. That's one per week for the breadwinner...
If you live in the 1950s.
