Hey folks, I went to see the new Scream last night! I had so many thoughts, I figured it would be better to just record a video, so here it is!

Spoiler-free? I really want to watch this video but won't see the movie until mid week for a empty theatre

Sorry for the late response but yes it's spoiler free, but there are images used in the marketing, if that's something you don't want to see

I liked it; It was clever! Always appreciated the self-awareness that the franchise has leaned on, it sticks the landing here while including legacy characters and also kindof treating the whole thing with the proper amount of irreverence. Favorite moments The "re-quel" definition monologue and the name dropping of great modern horror films and directors (especially the shoutout to Rian Johnson) and particularly the plea to the audience about toxic fandom.

I really loved Scream 4, but it has Emma Roberts so I automatically love it, but I seem to remember both 3 and 4 had bad cg knife stabbings. The violence in this movie was very well done, nothing approaching the very first kill of the very first movie, which I still think is the most brutal of the whole thing, but whatever, I liked it. The theater wasn't compeltely full, but there was some good audience energy for a horror movie and that can never hurt!

One thing, I was sure I recognized Amber and sure enough she was one of the hippies from the ending of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood....so I was basically expecting her to stab someone from the get and making it the boyfriend again was obvious, but I never give negative marks for that.

      "For Wes" indeed.
