What Do You Do in No Man's Sky? Let Hello Games show you
The idea of exploration and to literally feel like you are going where no one has gone before.
The hype of No Man's Sky has been great, and developer Hello Games has been getting better at communicating what it wants players to experience in the game. With tomorrow's release on PS4, it is giving it one more shot.
Sean Murray took to the official blog to look back at the game's development, pulling comparison screenshots and linking to game play videos from all of the different appearances he has done promoting the game. He said looking at all of it reminded him that what he had wanted for the game is the way it finally came together.
"We planned it from the start, but you can play the game now, and you can have those moments yourself," he said, referencing the various videos. "Lots of little details have changed (so many, SO MANY, for the better!) but the game looks and plays just as we aimed to. The thing I’m so proud of though, is that I’ve managed to gather the most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and they’ve done some of the best work of their lives, to help make this happen."
He also gave a detailed list of what he felt were the the game's strengths:
- Exploring a universe of pretty procedurally generated worlds, with beautiful creatures
- Trading with NPCs
- Combat against robots/mechs and cool space battles
- Survival/crafting in a universe sized sandbox
- An awesome procedural soundtrack from my genuine favourite band (check the NMS album out here)
- For one small moment, you might feel like you’ve stepped into a sci-fi book cover
He also cautioned against letting your imagination run wild, but promised more to come in future updates. "Freighters and building bases *are* coming," Murray said, but right now, the game is about exploration. "It’s an infinite procedural sci-fi-space-survival-sandbox unlike anything you have ever played before. If you decide to play it, you’ll see just how closely it plays to those trailers, and to our original vision. It’s a weird game, it’s a niche game and it’s a very, very chill game."
Murray will be doing a livestream of the game on Twitch tonight in about two hours at 3:30 ET / 12:30 PT, which you can watch below. While the game releases on PS4 tomorrow, it will be out on PC on August 12.

Can't wait for this game with the addition of building structures that will be added later on it really will have everything. Also from what some are saying they are going to keep on adding stuff so that is pretty cool.
I can't believe its actually coming out this week(I am getting the PC version so I have to wait a bit).

Not sure, I am only playing/getting it for a SP experience that is all I ever cared about.
The MP is in there but I never looked into it or was concerned about it.
Like jake said its apparently like Destiny but since the universe is so massive apparently it will be hard to run into many people fro that to be a common scenario and it will be rare.
A friend of a friend said that they may look into this(MP portion of the game as in enhancements) and have some sort of mechanic where you could hook up with a X amount of friends in a meeting spot warp gate thing. I really don't know all the details but apparently they are thinking about it if a group of buddies want to group up. I have no idea how legit this is. From a programmatic stand point you could do such a thing if you wanted to or a similar mechanic so I would not think it far fetched.

This is a awesome idea ^^^^ I love it, they should totally do this.
You could make different planets have cool/diff things like say combat focused planets, quest planets, or what ever and it be rad to run into them.
There is so many possibilities with the base game, they be crazy not to expand on it I am sure they will(just look at the patch notes etc).
