The Register is speculating the Pentium4 is delayed for marketing, and not technical reasons. Since they already are too late for Christmas, and PC manufacturers aren't too excited about the expensive product that doesn't offer a great price/performance ratio they might as well wait until January when they cut prices. But TR also says that that the Pentium3 CPUs will have price cuts, but then if most people who want a cheaper PC pick up a Pentium3 for Christmas, who will want the Pentium4 the next month? Oh well.
