Overwatch cheaters have started to taste Blizzard's ban hammer
Over 1500 cheaters in China alone have been banned from playing Overwatch.
Blizzard may have seven million players enjoying Overwatch, but it’s already removing players from the game by banning alleged cheaters, thus staying true to its word on its immediate enforcement of bans.
Over 1500 players in China alone have been banned, with Western players also getting a taste of Blizzard’s ban hammer. A number of posts from less-than-happy cheaters have started popping up online. One of these cheaters shares his ban experience saying he was banned one day after Overwatch’s release. “Thought I got detected for using RPM tools, because the game was crashing for it at that time. Bought the game again... didn't hack on it at all, just wanted to enjoy the game a bit. Two days later—banned again. Bought the game... again. But before doing that, I deleted Overwatch and launcher completely. Enjoyed it again without cheating only for a day."
As we mentioned, Blizzard is taking cheating in Overwatch very seriously, which is great to hear as a regular player. I already have trouble staying competitive against players who have way more time to play Overwatch than I do, so the last thing I need is someone who cheats their way to the top of the leaderboards.

When someone says "by your logic", they are giving an example to show the failure of the original logic.
As in, I disagree with the original logic, here are three other examples of why people cheat:
1. To troll/grief
2. To find out what cheats are out there
3. To review games (this usually only applies to single player games)
Simultaneously, I was insulting Blizzard for not doing more to prevent cheats. I hope they do keep making games for a long time because I love most of their games, doesn't mean I can't insult them when they screw up. I'm still amazed by how butt hurt everyone here got.

Good to know, I'll probably use this to troll in the future -- even though in this case I wasn't trolling, I think the fact that there are cheats a week after release shows how little effort Blizzard has put towards preventing cheats in this game. Fixing the problem by banning is exactly like cheating, it's going for the easy solution instead of the good one.

Haha, I didn't realize this got so many replies.
To answer all the comments:
1. I haven't even bought the game yet so no I didn't get banned. Played the beta, was fun, might buy at some point.
2. Main point of my original comment is that Blizzard is blaming players for cheating, instead of making cheating impossible or at least extremely difficult. The fact that there are cheating this soon after release tells me this wasn't a priority for them.
IMO this is a lazy tactic for preventing cheating, and cheaters will remain, just become more subtle cheaters so they don't get caught.
My logic is Blizzard is cheating at preventing cheating. Instead of spending effort making their game secure, they are doing this as a quick PR stunt to make it look like they're doing something about cheating. What, you think no one else will cheat because 0.01% of the player base got a ban?
