Peter Molyneux Twitter account hacked; is not retiring from game industry
Peter Molyneux's Twitter account was hacked today, so previous reports of his retiring from the games industry are now false.
Update: Moments after we published our story, Molyneux revealed his Twitter account was hacked. He followed up the strange series of tweets by saying he isn't retiring and not closing Godus.
Original Story:
Peter Molyneux, legendary developer behind such games as Populous, Black & White, and the Fable Series has just announced he will be retiring from the games industry immediately.
In a series of announcements on Molyneux’s Twitter account, he announced Godus, which he helped design, will be taken down from Steam “with immediate effect.” In a follow-up tweet, he says the following: “This is also the time I would like to announce my retirement from the games industry. It has been a long journey for me. Thank you.”
Molyneux follows up that message by saying his time in the industry has been “bitter sweet” and his biggest mistake was Fable III as it pushed him and his team to the limits.
Today's announcement is a bit of a strange one as the last time Molyneux said anything on his Twitter account was to gloat about staying at the Mayfair hotel back in Jan 2015. Today's retirement announcement is extremely sudden, especially when you consider he's completely removing his latest game from Steam.
We'll be sure to keep an eye on this breaking story for any additional information from Molyneux.

I thought the ending was fucking FANTASTIC*
Videogames are rife with wish-fulfillment endings where the good guy pays no cost.
Fable 2 offered you:
Be the actual hero, saving towns/people/families...but you have to make a personal sacrifice (your friend). If you pick this, the world definitely seems more empty/lonely when running around.
Be a bit selfish, or maybe you could look at is as loyal to your dog, but you can see the effect it has on towns, etc.
Or be the typical EVILLLLL guy who cares nothing about anyone, but hey, you're rich!
*Exaggeration. I just like the idea. A little bit of the execution I think could have been better (the scene leading to the choice) -
