Happy Birthday, Ritual

1

Today marks the 3rd Anniversary of Ritual Entertainment (which happens to be my day job, by night I'm known as NightMan, but that's another story...) and Rob Atkins updated his .plan to celebrate. Here's lots of it, courtesy of, as always, my finger shack, the place where hitting refresh is fun(tm)!

It was 3 years ago today that Michael, Mark, Jim, Levelord, and myself quit our jobs at 3D Realms, walked into id's offices (with the biggest grin on our faces) and signed a contract to develop "Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon." A few days later, Tom and Harry joined us and our little company was on its way. There are no words that can describe the emotions I felt those first days. Fast-forward three years over a mountain of life, and I still don't have the vocabulary to express the depths of enjoyment received from this experience. Guys, thank you very much for letting my family and me share this precious journey, may it never end. I'm very proud to have you as my partners and best friends; together we will do great things.

heh, Ritual is working on its 3rd release now.
and 3drealms is still working on DukeForever. Duke will probably
be a great single player game, but its it really worth it to spend
all this time over something that\'s going to be played ONCE.
    Half-life supposedly has \"revolutionary\" single player. I don\'t see
why, I finished it and i still think that Doom is tons more fun. It\'ll
be torture to play Half-life again. Hopefully Duke will have some sort
of replayability value in it. Its just a shame to see all this effort
    go to a waste.
