Destiny servers down for maintenance August 6; could last four hours [Update]
Bungie has revealed Destiny's servers will be down on August 6 starting at 8am PT and may last for as long as four hours.
[Update: Bungie has completed its work on Destiny's servers. Guardians should now be able to sign into the game the next time they want to play.]
Bungie has announced it will be taking Destiny’s servers offline for maintenance on August 6 starting at 8am PT and is expected to finish at 12pm PT.
The last time Bungie took down Destiny’s servers for maintenance was nearly a month ago, although since then, the developer has had issues keeping them up several times throughout July.
According to Bungie’s help article, players logged into Destiny will receive a message prior to the start of the server maintenance to prepare them to log out. Once the maintenance begins, Guardians won’t be able to log into Destiny until Bungie concludes its work at 12:00pm PT.
Bungie appears to be making some drastic changes to Destiny to prepare players for The Taken King. We learned Nolan North has been casted as the voice of Ghost and will be making changes to the leveling and loot system in the game. With all of these changes, let’s hope Destiny’s servers can stay online during the launch of The Taken King so we can all enjoy them together.
