Destiny: What is Xur Selling - July 17-19
Find out what's worth buying from the Agent of Nine this weekend in Destiny.
If you’ve put any amount of time into Destiny since release, you’re probably already quite familiar with the weekly exotic salesmen, Xur. Arriving at 5AM ET on Fridays, Xur can be found lurking within the tower until Sunday at 5AM ET. Players can then find, speak with, and purchase various items from Xur in exchange for Strange Coins.
This week players can find the Agent of Nine in Tower North, next to The Speaker’s Observatory. Sadly, for reasons unknown at this point in time, Xur isn’t selling an Exotic Weapon as usual. Instead he is carrying three pieces of Exotic Armor and the other usual goodies.
Exotic Inventory:
- Helm of Inmost Light – Exotic Titan Helmet
- Celestial Nighthawk – Exotic Hunter Helmet
- Sunbreaker Guantlets – Exotic Warlock Gauntlets
- Exotic Shard
- Exotic Helmet Engram
Other items for purchase include:
- Pulse Rifle Telemetry
- Auto Rifle Telemetry
- Machine Gun Telemetry
- Plasma Drive
- Emerald Coil
- Heavy Ammo Synthesis
Currency Exchange Options:
- 2X Strange Coins - Mote of Light

To me it seems like they are going to hit a brick wall down the road with the exotic weapons, especially if they continue the "year" damage upgrade to bring the base up to snuff.
I'd like to see the modifiers become an item that can be equipped on the weapon. Allow grey to exotic have X slots to equip modifiers. Let exotic have access to two exotic modifiers. Let legendary have access to one. Toss in legendary, rare, common, grey modifiers.
Say something like bad juju's super regen would be an exotic modifier or ice breakers ammo regen. ADS modifiers would mostly be grey.
At the end of the day Bungie can adjust modifiers as necessary and not make an entire weapon potentially useless. It will also allow players to do very unique builds.
