Report: Gold Mario amiibo will miss Mario Party 10 release date [UPDATE: Email Error]
Those hoping to pick up their Gold Mario amiibo along with their copy of Mario Party 10 may end up feeling disappointed if reports of the figure's delay are to be believed.
The Gold Mario amiibo continues to be as elusive as ever now that it’s being reported the Walmart-exclusive amiibo has been hit with a slight delay.
According to a number of Twitter users who pre-ordered the Gold Mario amiibo, Walmart has sent out emails saying the figures will be available on April 8th, instead of the previously expected March 20th release date.
Of course, the original release date on March 20th was so the Gold Mario amiibo would coincide with the release of Mario Party 10. This delay means those who were hoping to pick both up at the same time will just feel awkward when they have to return to Walmart a few weeks later to pick up their amiibo.
Neither Walmart nor Nintendo have made any announcements regarding this delay, although I reached out to both companies to see if these reported delays are true.
UPDATE: Looks like the email concerning the delay was sent out in error. Customers should expect their Gold Mario amiibo to be available on March 20th when Mario Party 10 hits store shelves.

From Amiibo News - UPDATE: Good News Everyone! Walmart corporate has gotten back to me with official news about Gold Mario. The email of the delay was sent out in error. Expect Your gold Mario to ship on the original release date of March 20th.
The Press release reads as follows:
There’s no trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario Amiibo fans will still see Gold on March 20, 2015. Walmart.com pre-order customers may have seen an incorrect availability date in their account, and we’re in the process of correcting that order information to assure fans that there are no delays.
